Coyote First STEP (ESM 105) Home Students (attending CSUSB in the fall): This is a free six-week program with a two-week residential experience included.

Will I be able to receive financial aid for Early Start?

Students who will attend another CSU campus in the fall (host students), and who have an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) below $5,500 will receive a fee waiver to attend an Early Start Course at CSUSB.

A valid parking permit is required at all times – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

How much does a parking permit cost?
The daily parking permits rate is $6.00 (Monday thru Friday at 5:00 pm). The weekend daily parking permit rate is $3.00 (valid beginning on Friday at 5:01 pm thru Sunday).
A summer parking permit is $57 for a 6-week session. Since CFS is a fully residential program and students will leave campus on weekends, we encourage students to leave their cars at home.

To avoid a ticket, display your permit in your vehicle at all times. There is no grace period for parking.

Yes, but you must first purchase your permit online. On the first day be sure to pick up your Coyote OneCard prior to picking up your permit. You MUST show your Coyote OneCard to pick up your previously purchased parking permit.

I'm attending the Early Start Program at the Palm Desert Campus. Do I need a permit there as well?

Yes! Vehicles without a valid permit will be ticketed and there is no grace period. Be sure your valid parking permit is displayed when you are parked on campus. Early Start Program parking permits may only be purchased online using a debit or credit card. Your permit will be ready for pick-up at the Palm Desert Campus 2 - 3 business days after purchase. The cost is $57 for 6 weeks.

Palm Desert campus parking dispensers are available to purchase a permit. The cost is $6 per day.

  • Coyote First STEP (ESM 105) Home Students (attending CSUSB in the fall): This is a free six-week program with a two-week residential experience included.
  • Early Start Math (ESM 105) Host Students: Fees are $127.40 per unit plus $2 fee for student union and health center and a course material fee of $37. This course is 4-units and total cost is $548.60
  • Early Start English (ESE 170) Home Students (attending CSUSB in the fall): This six-week course is free, but non-residential.
  • Early Start English (ESE 170) Host Students: Fees are $127.40 per unit plus a $2 fee for student union and health center and a course material fee of $44.14. This course is 4-units and a total cost is $555.74

Fee Waiver: A fee waiver is applied for students who have an EFC below $5,500.00. Host students who fall above that threshold will be required to pay.
