Non-Degree Seeking (Transitory)

Applicants who wish to enroll in CSUSB courses and not obtain a degree are considered non-degree seeking students. Non-degree seeking students can attended CSUSB for up to 3 quarters. If the applicant wishes to extend their stay, they will need to submit all requirements for admissions including TOEFL or IELTS requirements.

Requirements for Non-Degree Seeking Students:

  1. Bank/financial statement
  2. Copy of Passport
  3. Proof of English ability

This requirement can be satisfied in a number of ways:

a. The host faculty must verify an applicant’s English language proficiency through a recognized English test, by signed documentation from an academic institution or English language school

b. Through a letter from the host university’s English professor, evaluating the student’s English ability

c. Or satisfying the below requirements for TOEFL or IELTS depending on academic level entry.

Please Note: IELTS requirement for MBA, MPA and MSA is a 6.5 Total Band Score

Requirements for Short Term Applicantions:

The temporary student admissions policy at CSUSB recently changed. Students seeking for short-term studies at CSUSB mist meet a minimum language proficiency (See Steps to Apply, for more information).

Please note that short-term students can only stay in non-degree visiting status from one quarter up to three quarters. If the student wants to extend the stay, the student will need to submit all requirements for admissions including the TOEFL (or passing level five at ACLP/ELP).
