Greek Life
Why Go Greek? |
SCHOLARSHIP
Helping members achieve scholastic excellence is one of the primary goals of the Greek community at CSUSB. Fraternities and sororities challenge their members to higher standards of scholarship, and most organizations reward members for their scholastic achievement through scholarships and fellowship programs. On campus, each Greek organization has designed a scholarship program that provides guidance, support, academic resources, and recognition. These programs promote academic excellence within the chapter and in the campus community.

LEADERSHIP
Leadership development is another benefit of membership in the Greek community. Chapter members participate in on-going leadership training and education, and the skills they develop in college later translate into success in their careers. Greek organizations provide members with many leadership opportunities both within their chapters and governing councils. Each fraternity and sorority elects and appoints officers each year, and these positions allow both new and seasoned leaders the opportunity to develop and practice essential skills. Time management, organization, effective communication and conflict resolution are just a few examples of skills you will learn as a leader in a Greek organization.
Go Greek and be a better leader!
PHILANTHROPY
The Greek community at CSUSB values service to the campus and the greater community, and they refer to this service as philanthropy. Philanthropy is defined as active efforts to promote human welfare. Fraternities and sororities at CSUSB are actively involved in philanthropic activities, and many chapters have adopted specific charitable causes to support such as the Child Miracle Network or the Ronald McDonald House charities. Countless hours each year are spent by Greeks improving the communities in which they live.

SOCIAL
While the Greek community promotes high standards of scholarship, develops leadership skills, and provides community service, they also have fun! Fraternities and sororities offer many social outlets for their members, and each organization sponsors events each quarter. Formal and semi-formal dances, mixers, and philanthropy events are just a few examples of the diverse opportunities to interact and develop h3 friendships among the entire Greek community.

FRIENDSHIP
One of the most important components of Greek life is friendship. Brotherhood and sisterhood are what hold Greek organizations together. Deep friendships develop through working together toward common goals and provide a sense of family. Even after graduation the h3 bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood exist, and often grow h3er.
Go Greek and develop lifelong friendships!
