Evans Kahuthu, Cal State San Bernardino’s webmaster, is one of four employees from the 23-campus California State University system to receive the system’s Accessible Technology Initiative Award. Through his hard work and dedication, disabled students in the California State University system have to access university Web sites, read electronic textbooks and, in the process, save university-system money. The award recognizes the recipients as champions for their commitment, work and accomplishments in implementing the Accessible Technology Initiative. “Originally I was just assigned to help, but I developed a passion to help,” Kahuthu said. “Also the responses from the users are great. They are excited to have access.”
