Welcome to the Division of Teacher Education.
The College of Education at CSUSB provides excellent programs that prepare candidates for initial licensure to teach. We work closely with the more than 55 school districts in our expansive region to develop and implement teacher preparation programs for a wide range of school settings. The Division is pleased to offer the following basic teacher preparation programs.

Programs
All of our programs are accredited by the state of California and the National Council for the Accreditation for Teacher Education (NCATE). We are proud of our programs and of our graduates. We look forward to collaborating with you in your pursuit of a teaching credential from CSUSB--a credential with distinction.
Multiple Subject Programs - Elementary Teacher Preparation - These programs license teachers for the elementary setting or multiple subject setting and include a bilingual (Spanish) option.
Single Subject Programs - Secondary Teacher Preparation - Graduates of these programs are licensed to teach a specific content area to secondary students.
Special Education Programs - Educational Specialist Preparation - These programs recommend candidates for a license to teach special education students.
Designated Subjects - This program recommends for the license to teach designated subjects (career & vocational education). The course work can also be used to verify teacher preparation needed to teach in community colleges, private technical or vocational schools and other institutions that serve adult students.
