The European Prison Education Association is an organisation made up of prison educators, administrators, governors, researchers and other professionals whose interests lie in promoting and developing education and related activities in prisons throughout Europe in accordance with the recommendations of the Council of Europe.
The Correctional Education Association (CEA)
The Correctional Education Association (CEA)
Established in 1930 by Austin MacCormick, CEA is the main professional association for correctional educators. Despite its name, it is more of an American organization than an international one. Dr. Wright directs CEA Region VII which includes California, parts of our Southwest and all of Mexico. Dr. Eggleston ended a two year term as CEA President in July of 2006 and will continue to serve on the Executive Board. Dr. Gehring is the CEA historian.
