Teaching Credentials

Level 1 Designated Subjects
Anyone with five years of verifiable paid work experience from the field in which they would like to teach (one of those years having occurred within the last three years) may be able to qualify for a Preliminary Designated Subjects Teaching Credential. For example, if someone wanted to teach Underwater Basket Weaving, they would have to have actually worked as an Underwater Basket Weaver for at least five years. Find out more about Level 1.

Level 2 Designated Subjects Courses
Only two additional courses (after meeting Level 1 requirements) are required to meet Level 2 course requirements for the Full-Time Designated Subjects (Career/Technical, Vocational or Adult) Teaching Credential and both of those courses can/should be taken at the same time. These courses are offered in an all online Web based format so that there are no scheduled class meetings and assignments can be completed at your own pace, whenever your schedule permits!
