Credential Processing

Beginning the week of Monday, December 7, 2009, our office will be closed every Friday.
Due to campus furloughs, the campus will be closed on the following dates:

Credential Processing services credential/certificate candidates in assisting with the process of the application for formal credential/certificate recommendation to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (C.T.C.). In an attempt to provide you with quick customer service, we have listed information regarding our services and made our office forms available to you on our website. If you are unable to find the information you need and/or have a question for our staff, please contact our office at (909) 537-5609.
Office Hours
Beginning Monday, September 21, 2009, our office hours will be:
Monday thru Thursday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
(with applications accepted until 5:30 PM)
Friday, 8:00 Am - 4:30 PM
(with applications accepted until 4:00 PM)
NOTE: Although we make every attempt to post changes to our office hours in advance, we recommend that you contact our office prior to your visit. To view a list of other scheduled campus closure dates for the 2009 - 2010 academic year, click on Important Dates.
Submission Options
There are three options available for submitting credential/certificate application(s) and the required documentation:
Option 1: On-line
The Request for Pre-evaluation and Application for Credential Recommendation
may be submitted electronically to our office. In order to receive e-mail
correspondence from our office, applicants must have a valid CSUSB e-mail
address. For general information and access to Web Mail, click on CSUSB
Telecommunications and Network Services.
NOTE: All required documentation must be submitted directly to Credential Processing prior to the electronic submission. For specific documentation, click on Required Documentation.
Option 2: In person

NOTE: Palm Desert Campus (PDC) credential/certificate candidates may submit their application(s) and/or official document(s) to the PDC Teacher Education Office to be forwarded to Credential Processing.

Processing Fees
The CSUSB non-refundable processing fee for all credential/certificate (excluding Designated Subjects) applicants is as follows:

Twenty-five dollars ($25)
The CSUSB non-refundable processing fee for Designated Subjects credential applicants is as follows:

Thirty-five dollars ($35) for Preliminary Career Technical Education and Adult credential applicants.

Thirty-five dollars ($35) for Professional Clear Vocational, Career Technical Education, Adult and Special Subjects credential applicants that were not previously recommended for the Preliminary credential by CSUSB.

Twenty-five dollars ($25) for Professional Clear Vocational, Career Technical Education and Adult credential applicants that were previously recommended for the Preliminary credential by CSUSB.

Twenty-five dollars ($25) for Clear Supervision and Coordination credential applicants.
The CSUSB processing fee for all other services are as follows:

Seventy-five dollars ($75) for Subject Matter Competency Evaluation

Thirty-five dollars ($35) for Fifth Year Evaluation

Thirty-five dollars ($35) for Institutional Evaluation

Thirty-five dollars ($35) for Program Admissions File (PAF)

Ten dollars ($10) for CSUSB Program Completion

Ten dollars ($10) for Designated Subjects Verification of Completion of Level 1 Requirements

Ten dollars ($10) for Subject Matter Competency Letter
Payment Methods
The CSUSB non-refundable processing fee may be paid using one of the following payment methods:

Submit Fee Receipt and payment to the Bursar's Office in person or by mail. Cash, check, money order, traveler's check, cashier's check or pin-based ATM are acceptable.

Pay on-line with a credit card (2.9% convenience fee). American Express, Discover and MasterCard accepted (Visa is not accepted).
