Getting Started - Admission to Tier I Program

Preliminary Administrative Services Credential Program and Masters of Arts Program

In addition to being admitted to the University (Step 1) students must also apply for admission to the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential and/or Masters of Arts in Educational Administration Program. Students must complete this step before they can advance to candidacy. Mail the following materials stapled   in a set to the attention of Laura Duarte, Admissions Office, CSUSB, 5500 University Parkway, San Bernardino, CA 92407-2397. Incomplete sets will be returned. The stapled set of materials must include all of the following materials:

An application for admission to the program with all items 2-4 stapled to the application form in a set. (Appendix 2).

A photocopy of your valid California teaching, pupil personnel or health services credential or evidence of eligibility for a credential.

A letter from your District Personnel Office documenting the completion of at least one year of full-time teaching; substitute teaching does not apply to enter the program. Three years of related school experience is required for the administrative credential.

A photocopy of the notification of your successful completion of the CBEST test.

NOTE: Documentation of a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 ("B") in all courses previously taken in education will be verified by the admissions office from transcripts submitted as part of your admission to the university (Step 1). To be admitted to the program, all students must demonstrate they have already satisfied the upper division writing requirement (see page 5).
