UCDD Desert Home

UCDD’s Palm Desert program, previously located at the Workforce Development Center in Indio, was relocated October 1, 2007 to our brand new building in Palm Desert.

Finding a suitable space for a program that operates for only eleven hours a week was definitely a daunting task for UCDD Director, Dr. Dwight Sweeney. Despite finding suitable space there were budgetary issues to also keep in check. However, perseverance and necessity paid off by finding a new building just a mile from the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus in Palm Desert.

Since the opening the desert satellite program in the fall of 2000, space for the program was shared. This required extensive setup, breakdown and securing of nightly program materials so others could use the space during the day. Although this is not an ideal situation for the desert program, it is by far the best alternative to having our own space.

We hope to relocate the UCDD Desert program to its permanent location on the CSUSB Cook Street Campus sometime in 2010.
